The Docks
The docks nearest to the street (several cross streets down)
It was at this doc that the pc's were fishing that day. There Johan's Band returned, leaving their extra's on the doc for later. The pc's met some sea gnomes and had a quick skirmish, and later when they returned they were surrounded by zombie pirates.

Philosophy
Game will highlight the children of adventurers from one city.
The first game was designed for a quick start, just stats, name and family. So there will be some flexibility on rearranging those stats for the first game as adults.
I want the game to be simple, so limiting them to the 4 core races and classes to start.
Idea is to alternate between events as teenagers, and how that affects them as adult adventurers. So each game should have at least one flashback to their teen years.
Each PC will be assigned a parent with a class. So each will have a hook to play with. Players may flesh out the family if they want to, but that isn't required.

House Rules
All Characters have the same 6 stats (18 16 14 12 10 8), arranged as they choose.
Only 2 PC's may have the same 18 stat.
some flexibility is allowed after 'kid' game to rearrange.
Musts:
Name has a unique first letter.
Look like a core race (Human, elf, dwarf, halfing)
Core class for 1st X levels (Fighter, Cleric, Sorcerer, Rogue)
X has not been defined yet, expect 3-5.
No, Racial stat bonuses.
Yes, Racial other abilities.
Max cash by class at 1st level.
Each Character has the following:
Randomly assigned class of one parent.
One class skill from that parent's class can be taken as a class skill.
A home, typically a shop their parent runs, or lives above.

Setting
In a large seaport city there is a quarter where the adventurers live. When they are there, most of the time the spouses, grandparents and children are alone, waiting for good news or bad and surviving on previous treasure hauls and normal incomes. It's a tight community so all the children run and play together.
Organizations are run by former adventurers, even the church. There is one main training center anchored by a conventional school for younger children.
The Economy has a big boom and bust cycle, living high when a crew brings in a hail, scraping by in the between times.
